Drue Kirby Coats
Drue was born and raised in Washington State; she attended the University of Washington earning a BA in Political Science. She then went on to Seattle University School of Law for her Juris Doctorate. Her legal practice focused on Criminal Law. She was an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Seattle for many years. While there she prosecuted criminal cases for the City. She was a part of the award winning Domestic Violence Unit as well as being head of the DUI unit. From there she worked for several prominent law firms practicing criminal law. She also served as a Pro Tem Judge for Snohomish County District Courts and several Western Washington Municipal Courts.
She has been an active volunteer for many organizations. She served on the Board of King County Washington Women Lawyers, Washington Women Lawyers Judicial Evaluation Committee and on the board of Cedar River Clinics. She was also a frequent speaker for numerous continuing legal education seminars.
In 2013 she gave up the practice of law and moved to Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, two dogs and a horse. They live in the Desert and are thrilled to see the sun every day.
